Not all oppositions are because of the past, but speaking from experience...my husband didn't care for something else taking away from the already precious time we have together at home with our 3 children under the age of 5. I always say that the best marriages are the ones where each one lets the other one continue to grow in their own personal journey in life - and yet remain partners and work together as partners when something isn't quite right. The key is to communicate and give each other the freedom to continue to grow as individuals and hang in there when the going gets tough. Life's too short to look backwards. If everyone would live in the now and continue to work towards a more rewarding future, the world would definately be a different place.
